I know we all, or at least most of us, live in a country that has hated us since we were stolen from our native land. They've done everything that they can do to hold us back and limit our opportunity. From destroying the black family, to putting drugs in our neighborhoods, to making us poor, to lynching us and burning us. Setting a European standard of beauty that makes our women feel unattractive, and taking opportunity away from our men (and women) which makes us feel like we can't take care of our families. They try their best to make us hate eachother.

But I wanna say, I really do love being black. And if you're black. I love you too :salute:

I'm grateful for you all, I'm grateful that you're all fighting this battle everyday. I'm grateful that you are all still in this war against our oppressors and you haven't given up.

You all inspire me. Black people everywhere inspire. The ones who are successful inspire me to be more successful, and the ones who aren't inspire me to do everything that I can to lift up other black people and make sure my son finds his way.

You are all beautiful. Every tone. Every shade. Every economic class. Every profession.

I really do love y'all. We can get back to the trolling, fukkery, e-personas and bullshyt soon. But take a minute to post why you love being black. Or share a positive story about a black Good Samaritan or a black person in your life who has helped you become you. :blessed:

One of the first black people outside of my immediate family who had an impact on me was my 2nd grade camp counselor. He's one of the first people who told me about What it meant to be black in America, and it's one of my earliest memories. He told me "You're never going to be enough for them, but you always gotta be enough for you". And gave me an extra PB&J. It's also the first time I learned about a black leader not named MLK or Rosa Parks. He told me about Baldwin and read me a couple pieces of his work.

I met up with him again after my graduation, reconnected on Facebook and he told me how proud he was of me. And I told him how much of an impact that little moment effected me and my mind even if I didn't know it at the time. It's really the little pieces of information that you give to kids that can stick one day.

I love this black skin I was born in.
I love you all.

And, I try to ease up on the c00n shyt. Because some don't know better. It's the ones who know better, and choose to still be that way.

c00nin' is not the absence of black knowledge, it is the presence of black knowledge, while ignoring it and still using white supremacy talking/living practices.
