I know a couple of you guys have lived or visited both countries as blacks. Can y’all share some experiences? I’d imagine it was worse in China from what I heard.

Its literally the same experience in any asian country, majority of the pop will be some degree of racist to you, a few will treat you like an alien oddity that have to touch you just to make sure you're real, and a couple girls will fetishize you because you're black.:yeshrug:

We always get asked this and I say the same thing everytime bout Japan
Easily one of the best experiences of my life and life changing.
Let alone whether its Asia or any other country it changes ur outlook on females in general especially American females due to cultural reasons of how u get treated

I've traveled to both countries, while in my experience the Chinese weren't overly hostile to me, I could say they were generally less than friendly. Like very curt.

Japanese people are very much about politeness, so they will generally treat you ok even if hey don't care for you. There is some ignorance to Black culture among older people but the younger kids (under 35) are kind of reverent of it. Especially hip-hop. Like that's their counter culture music. They are very big on stuff like Jazz and even funk. They also have a thing especially about Black masculinity, like the men are intimidated and the women are curious especially since their own men are leaving them high and dry.

You will have gaijin power like the breh from Outpost 9.
Damn I miss Az. Wonder if he still writes. His blogs were masterpiece.

As for the thread title I don't understand the question . In terms of what? Hostiity ? Staring ? Getting women ? Making money? Living?

Edit. Az hasn't written a blog since 2016, and 2012 before that. He's married with 2 kids now, he's still living in kyoto. It's amazing that I been following that dude since 2004 to 2010 and watched him blossom into a family man . He was so popular folks still talk about gaijin smash on Reddit and wiki. He was ahead of his time, had he been blogging on today's internet like a podcast on YouTube, he'd have a million followers and caking.
