My only issue with her critique of TN-C writing platform is that if you're a writer that is going to try and bridge gaps and concepts, and if you're going to write with the necessary nuance to encompass systemic bias and personal experience, the platforms are going to be rather limited.
Your average hood dude isn't necessarily a New Yorker/The Atlantic (I am, and I feel pretty alone w/ my peers) reader, but to try and package for a demographic that may not be composed of heavy readers, you're going to lose some of the necessary nuance.

Neither bell hooks nor Kevin Powell, nor Cornel West, nor dozens of other brilliant Black writers are going to exist in the necessary platform.

Next minute we aren't allowed to express ourselves...

So you gotta know how to handle that...

And violence is part of emotionality.

If I had to beat one of my peers ass cause he was fukking with me...I don't want to do that shyt but I got to or other males gonna fukk with me...

So as woman and a feminist...

You can't tell me I am a brute on one hand cause I don't practice some peaceful form of femininity...when being a male in any society doesn't lend towards that...

Just because I can be angry and rageful and violent doesn't mean I am some unemotional brute...

Being violent sucks but we live in a violent world, especially as a man. Especially as a Black man.

As a 20 something year old 200 plus pounds over 6 foot Black man...you best believe any of these little motherfukkers try me when I go thru the hood...I gotta be prepared to be violent...

When I am with my little sister in the hood, I am prepared to be violent...

I ain't some unfeeling savage looking for the shyt...

That's what half of Coates book is about...it's about the violent world Black males live in

You gotta be calm and cool enough to deal with White folks...

Then you gotta be prepared to be violent against your peers...

At the end of the day...men aren't women...our world's are radically different....

If I had my sister's mouth I would be dead...that's just facts...

If I didn't learn how to control my temper...I would be dead...

If I control myself I am unemotional but if I am violent I am brute...

The problem with bell hooks has always been she don't cite shyt and don't do any research...

A lot of Black men got PTSD due to violence...and they ain't been in no war...

We feel shyt and we express it...

But if we don't do it in some readily identifiable feminine way it don't count...

This is the danger of feminists studying men cause they don't live in a man's world...and their conclusions are about what they think men should be like from a woman's point of view...

Still haven’t read hooks. I order her books a lot since most of my clientele are women. But in general, every Black so called social commentator needs to be scrutinized with a critical eye. It’s too many people that can be led astray nowadays since so many are eager to be “woke”.
