All jokes and calculations aside, why are all these top draft picks misisng so much time with injury? It seems every year there's a top piclk out for months if not for his whole first year now...Simmons, Embiid, Noel, Okafor too (I think?), couple years ago Griffin...
Kyrie missed about 30 games his rookie season, Beal missed like 25 games his rookie year (that's every year), Davis misses like 20 games a year, Jabari Parker missed 60 games his rookie year and he just tore his ACL again, Aaron Gordon missed 30 games his rookie year.

Philly is changing the game with what are essentially medical redshirt years from Embiid and now Simmons. The league itself is more accepting of shyt like this...neither the front office or the player used to be cool with sitting out the year. Even if you got right for the last few months you played. Shyt is completely different now.

Can someone familiar with the process inform me about which step of the process calls for your two franchise players to be to hurt to play consistently :jbhmm:

Embiid going to get 200 million for 200 played games at this point :jbhmm:

It's called bad luck

So if Philly drafts Ball, Fultz, or another top prospect, for whatever reason, we won't see them play til like 2019 or some sh*t.. Colangelo or Hinkie, shyt is a joke right now

Why would he come back to a team that won't make the playoffs this year. Trust the process, lose games and get another lottery pick. They will be better off next season as long as Embid stays healthy

Exactly, that's the thing, don't want to turn this in a "back in the day" thread but I don't remember all these rookies coming in and getting heavily injured either before seeing the court or every other year...seems like most players "only" got injured due to age or freak accidents, now it...just happens

I think kids coming into the league now have a lot more wear and tear on their bodies than before, there's basically no end of the season for HS basketball players now, once their HS season is over they play AAU ball. There's also a rush for them to gain weight and it ends up putting stress on their bodies.

I'd classify Ben Simmons as a big man though, he's a legitimate 6'10" and when you're that big and play the type of game he plays health problems can pop up. Same with Embiid, in the past it was the bigs that always got hurt too soon.
