Take Embiid off the Sixers and they’re in the gutter with Atlanta & Orlando. They go as he goes. They’re 25-17 with him in the lineup and 2-8 when he sits. Winning percentage wise that’s the difference between being a top 3 seed and being the worst in the league

He’s the furthest thing from a stat whore because he could chase rebounds and assist more also Simmons is a better rebounder and off ball defender. Look at his impact on defense a rookie 6’10 averaging that meany steals and he guards point to 4.

And Chris Paul is smaller than Kemba and still a good defender 7x all defense ... Patrick Beverly is all team defense and the same size as Kemba ... this sounds like an excuse for deficiencies in his game ....Elfrid Payton is 6’4” and can’t defend shyt ... I didn’t know simply being tall = being good on defense ... imo if a player is better at xyz therefore impacting more facets of the game than another player why not just give that guy credit for being able to do more instead of making cop outs for the other guy you have a personal affinity for?

kemba's a bad defender now? he just locked up Lillard and dropped 40 on him one game ago

and a good 6'10 defender is always gonna have more floor impact than a smaller defender of the same caliber just because of the nature of the game - point guards aren't flying off the weak side to challenge shots at the rim for a living

I said that Simmons was deserving of a nod. yeah, I know they dont like to put rookies in but damn, like 4 all stars got injured, so you just gonna keep passing him over because he is a rookie? if someone else gets injured...who is the next man up then? and too the ass that said Simmons is a bum without Embiid you remove Simmons from that team and no way they get in the playoffs and probably end up in the lottery again, so your logic works against you, especially when Embiid missed like 9 games and may miss more here in and there before the season is out.

Good post .... 6ers were 13-18 last year with Just Embiid playing and no Simmons
