You think him signing to Def Jam was a good thing? I'm curious.

Isn’t the point of signing to a Major supposed to be to make things easier for Music Videos/Sample Clearances/feature clearances/marketing/etc?

It doesn’t FEEL like Benny is getting any major boast by being on Def Jam. I guess we’ll see when the album drops if he gets any radio play/all star features.

I think it was a good business decision for him because, at least from the clips I’ve heard, if he’s going to continue to be able to make his brand of Hip-Hop why not get the major label bag? Hopefully it can expand his reach of what he is able to do as far as marketing & connecting with other rappers previously he wouldn’t move with. That can be dope if done right. I do trust Benny to stay true to self.

Plus, they can clear previously hard to clear samples like this Alchemist joint originally intended for Johnny P’s Caddy :blessed:

Put this on the album!!!!:bryan:

He doesn't have a video or single out so of course he can't drop the album. He should just do what he did for TT4 and release a video with a big feature than release the album 2 weeks after. He has Wayne on there so use him to get the streams and use the momentum for the album.

It’s more about the fact he dropped a release date 4 months ago and it doesn’t appear he’s even close to dropping an album. A Wayne feature is always cool but I don’t think it’s the feature in 2023 needed to jumpstart the album :hubie:

I only said Wayne because he's confirmed. I don't know who else is featured.

The fact that he hasn't done that tells me Def Jam doesn't think he has the record. If he had it, it would have been released already. They control this process, unlike with TT4 where he did. One of many reasons I was skeptical about him signing.

And with Drake coming, Travis out, and more big albums coming I doubt they can get away with throwing a Chris Brown hook on a track and calling it a single.

Hopefully Benny does what Spitta did on Stoned Immaculate. Even tho it was bigger and had some chick records, it still felt like a Spitta release but with a bigger budget and sound. I doubt it sold anything worth mentioning but it was well received
