I've always wondered if the rumor about RVD and Jeff Hardy chiefing up before their ladder match at Invasion had any truth to it. On one hand, props to them for delivering a banger. On the other, if they really were lit during a stunt-heavy match, that's reckless enough to deserve a side-eye.

But I've heard a few wrestlers tell stories about having to talk their opponent thru a match where they get a concussion early and are struggling to stay lucid
I believe Austin and Taker had a big match that was kinda like that; I think I heard s story from Orton about one of the vets doin it for him too
