Recently copped the Philips Fidelio X2HR as an open-back counterpart to my M50x's.

The bass and soundstage on these things is :damn:
Still prefer the detail and highs of the M50x though, but i'll give em more time so I can get used to them.

For home I have a pair of sennheiser 280hd’s. For working out I have a generic Bluetooth set from amazon. They were like $20, had great reviews and sound great. I wouldn’t spend crazy money on earbuds

I was able to find a pair of Sony WF-XB700 on amazon refurbished for $50. They're earbuds and I use them for them gym. Try to find a similar deal because at that price point you won't find anything better. I also use ATH-M50x at home and they're great. Got those on sale for $100.

On a budget?
Audio Technica AD700X. They are open backs so everyone around you will hear the audio. But I find open back headphones more enjoyable than closed backs for music.

For ear buds, I don't think it even matters. They're all crap. Just get whatever you want.

What then AirPod max hitting like?

Seeing the more often in the gym
If you’re locked into apple eco it’s a no brainer. Are there better headphones out there? Yes, but the convenience of just putting your head phones on w/ an instant connection is priceless to me. Ear pads are magnetic and easily interchangeable as well. Go for it if you got it.
