I tried those. I liked the Golds better. Ive had mines for over a year now with heavy use and haven't had any problems with them at all. Other people on here have reported that theirs broke though too, so I can't call it. No joke at all, if it isn't a big deal to you, the XB1 headset is a good one too and it can be used on PS4. Rekka and Fatboi wouldn't approve but its a legit option.
I had mine for about a year. I didn't even use them heavy though...just every now and then.
If I looked at the right one, the xbox one headset isn't wireless. Also the mic wasn't retractable like the one in my amazon link. What didn't you like about that one?

I have the pulse elite headset and I love em. Great sound and very comfortable.
Only annoying thing is you have to use one of the older chargers to charge them...like the kind you use to charge a ps3 remote.

The Xbox head set has a retractable (folding mic) that hides in the head band. The audio quality is solid and the ear pads are extremely comfortable. I find them much more comfortable than the Sony golds which arent bad at all but these are just better in that respect. You're right about it not being wireless though. I don't mind too much because the wire just goes to the controller which when using the golds for chat you had to do anyway so I was used to the wire.
