men lie..women lie but the numers dont. If U Cant Touch This didnt stand the test of time...explain why it currently has over a quarter billion(almost half a billion) after being posted in 2009 :sas1:

Mama Said Knock You Out only has 20 Mil after being posted in 2009

explain it. :sas2:
Numbers don’t lie but they also don’t tell the whole story. I’m not even gonna entertain the thought that U Can’t Touch This is a better song than Mama Saif Knock You Out over YouTube clicks

I’m not even gonna lie and say I wasn’t a Hammer fan when I was 9. But I saw how corny he was just a year or two later when Too Legit 2 Quit dropped. MC Hammer fans were kids like me, old heads who loved that he wasn’t offensive, and white folks. My older sister, older cousins, and older kids around the way used to clown the hell outta us for liking Hammer. I think it hit me just how corny he was when I had to go to the nurse’s office once and Hammer was on the top 40 radio station she was listening to

I was like in the 4th grade :heh:

TOO LEGIT TO QUIT >>>> u cant touch this

i'd say everybody that wasn't on the purist tip, liked hammer at some point, regardless of age.

It definitely was but by that time I was older and he wasn’t entertaining anymore

those songs are just like a year apart tho.

i'Il meet you halfway. think hammer had just ran his course, became over-saturated and his presentation was too commercial by that point.

but yea "too legit" was THEE jock jam when it was out.

Real talk...I fux with u....one thing I notice about u is if u disagree on something u keep it cordial. Sometimes I test your stance on purpose yet u still keep it cordial.

LL had the better album. LL shytted on Hammer on a classic song from that album....But OP doesnt even have The Humpty Dance on that list.

:heh:

'Whos The Mack' more acknowledged over The Humpty Dance :russ:
Dude if the Humpty Dance isnt on a "best rap single of 1990" list then all bets are off and I'm picking the biggest song that year.

LLs video didnt have the kids wanting to rhyme in boxing rings. The Kids were doing the Hammer(pause). I was doing the Hammer dance and you were doing it too. Deny Hammer all u want now but if u bring up the story not being fully told then lets acknowledge that the Hammer hate really didnt go extra till after U cant Touch This...Not before......After awhile it was the in thing to hate on Hammer but 1990 was not that year. If we talking "influence" in 1990...Kids were more focused on Hammer and the adults were more focused on Hammer. Thats why U isCant Touch This the "best" because it passed bunderies were LL and KRS couldnt.

I agree with you on Humpty Dance. That might’ve almost got my vote
