DMX, Ja Rule, Snoop, Nelly, 50....

Yup. Even if the list were worldwide, some of those numbers dipped into the low end like 600,000 which woulda totally been eclipsed by what some of thes rappers were selling in one quarter. Hell snoop sold 800,000 first week for Doggystyle so even if quick, he shoulda made an appearance.

I think the guy that did the chart only looked for the bigger artist he knows and didn’t take everything into consideration. The guys YouTube channel is dedicated towards making all types of charts, not just music.

DMX released 2 albums in '98. Both went plat yet Wayne is there for Q1 2002 and he didnt drop his album until Q3 of 2002 and had no albums out in the 2 years prior.

The Eagles was huge breh.

Nothing fake about that.
Definitely some shenanigans going on when they recently surpassed mj. Thriller was #1 for a decade then all of a sudden the eagles album got 9 new platinum certifications in a day from the RIAA for the period between 2006 and 2018. All because Warner did a "exhaustive investigation" on the album.

This was shortly after Leaving Neverland.

No way some greatest hits album sold 9 million more units in 12 years. Sony had its own calculations and put it at 2.3 million at most.

“The notion that they can go back 10, 15, 20 or 30 years and find units that were never counted before is absurd,” says one executive in the Jackson/Sony camp. “They reviewed these records before. Why didn’t they find those uncounted records then?”

These charts are global, a lot of these artists only sold well in the states

i know they are big, but until last year thriller was the best selling album in the US, geffen records submitted numbers last year which made the eagles #1, ie they pulled the numbers out of their ass, they are basically saying that the eagles were outselling thriller during the 90s and 2000's

i found the article but its behind a paywall, but the eagles being #1 stinks of bs, David Geffen and white supremacy

The 70s and 80s were the best decades for music ever. :wow:

Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, David Ruffin, Eddie Kendricks, Curtis Mayfield, Willie Hutch, Johnny Guitar Watson, Bobby Womack, War, The Delfonics, Diana Ross, Sly and the Family Stone, Marvin Gaye, Earth Wind and Fire, The Spinners, Chaka Khan, Mandrill, Parliament Funkadelic, Bootsy Collins, Herbie Hancock, Minnie Riperton, Michael Jackson (🐐), the Isley Brothers, Donny Hathaway, Zapp and Roger, Roy Ayers, the SOS Band, Frankie Smith, One Way, Patrice Rushen, Prince, Larry Graham, Luther Vandross, Grover Washington Jr., Rick James, Teena Marie, Lakeside, Slave, The Jones Girls, D-Train, Tom Browne, Evelyn Champagne King, Morris Day, Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Anita Baker, Bobby Brown, Sade... I can keep going.

There's a reason all these 90s and 2000s cats jack most of their beats from this era.
