True cause you ain’t going to the find much of the Jazz stuff in Haiti. I think. @intruder v6.1 help please lol
Not just that, I doubt you will find poe boys, gumbo, bounce music, women showing titties for beads, and more I'm forgetting. Even the headwraps that black women had to wear is a N.O. thing based on the laws , and white women not wanting white men to be attracted to black women. You still see the chicks wear it to this day!

Like I posted, they are just sister cities who have the same origins, and changed as time went on. If anything because they have the same origins, they are probably the few places that show the old history of the U.S.A. Most places look more modern, and you can't see the old look of the country, so you tend to disconnect the old & the new. You can't say slavery didn't exist, but have Haiti & N.O. be so much alike.

Is it Haitain culture or just the same culture? It's disrespectful to put one over the other.

To me its just a twin city. Both had African, Spanish, and French, culture. N.O. just had the new U.S.A. culture added to it.
Why would it be just haitian culture... it’s not haiti. It’s NO...

but it has similarities in that culture and a few others. It’s NO culture which is a mixture and no other cultures like it

South Side Chicago to Nola
Yes and yes. I took some videos while on the trolley. Houses were so beautiful. I know they cost an arm and a leg :mjcry:

Yes should see the ones in the east Carrollton area, around that Whole Foods on magazine and the ones on tchopatolus ( i might have totally fukked up that spelling)

That area between the market is st roch and marigny. Everything above st Claude is considered part of the st Roch neighbourhood. Anything below st Claude is considered the marigny

I actually do live in that area. Been living between both Marigny and St. Roch for at least the past 6 years

It’s all the 8 ward though until you cross Elysian Fields

Man i used to stay going to st Roch market all the time, i became cool with one of the bartenders before he left, i see you 8th ward animal

Not sure if the dude was drunk or acting funny cause he was with girls but I almost got into an altercation with some dude at the rooftop bar called monkey board.

That’s about it.

Monkey board is a really chill spot nikka probably was sauced

Ever since I got stabbed in 2013 I tend to get very jumpy and defensive if another human makes a sudden move on me. He was saucy and made some instant gesture at me that threw me off plus he had pretty girls with him so I know his ego levels might have been high. Lol.

lol @spb Morrows and Willie May (did I spell it right) were very good food spots. I also went to a Haitian restaurant at St Roch Market that had a Griot Po Boy sandwich

:ahh:

Frenchman Street was really my type of vibe with the live bands and outdoor art markets.

I did a lot of walking around and the city looks just like my moms city in Haiti called Cap Haitene.

Went to the voodoo museum. Not sure if it was a rip off cause that was the smallest museum I ever set foot in. Also the voodoo museum was filled with dollars and coins since the Cacs actually pray to spirits there and leave money.

:heh:

What is the name of the area that the St Roch Market and Morrows locates? I could see myself living in that area.

Riding the trolley through uptown close to the Loyola and Trulane University was dope. Trolley was moving funny tho. Thought it was about to break down at any moment

:scusthov:

The old money homes along St Charles are top notch architecture.

New Orleans has by far the most beautiful accents in the US.

I’ll be back next year!

P.S - the voodoo culture in New Orleans is probably one of my favorite lessons of the city.

Didn’t know a Rougarou was an urban legend in New Orleans. It was also an urban legend in Haiti also

:heh:
Heading there in December can’t wait

Because I’ve been to NO more times than I can count. I’m saving up for some other trips soon so I didn’t wanna spend $ on a place I’ve been already.

I’m glad I went....had a great time.

Cowboys fans were DEEP in the French quarter lol.

The love NO has for the Saints is similar to New Yorkers and the Knicks lol.
