Better 2003 album...The Black Album or Get Rich or Die Tryin'

Two of the biggest albums of 2003....but which do you prefer.

I think Hov takes this easily.

GRODT is dope but it's kinda mid after Back Down.

Jay on TBA was just so effortless

Best all round performance by him on an album...in terms of lyrics, flow, swag, charisma. This was the pinnacle.

GRODT is pretty mediocre considering the numbers it did

Black Album. lot of filler in GRODT for me although tbf with GRODT i got what i expected. some classic tracks and some average ones

Black Album was a disappointment although it is still excellent. I remember early days there was expectation it would be a lot more back to RD. Then tracks like Change Clothes came out. Again good song but there was early hype that Black Album was going to be something different

Plus I love the cocky Jay more than the Jay when he was in his feelings and angry at the world for giving him the L. To me he's at his best when he's arrogant in a natural laid back way (RD/Vol 1/AG), not the shyt he was on on BP2/TBA.

What Up Gangsta is better than every single track on TBA. The Black Album is massively overhyped. The events surrounding the album is better than the actual music itself.
