It’s not just African derivative. Jamaican food has African influence but also Amerindian, British, Scot-Irish, Indian, Portuguese, Chinese, Middle Eastern influence
I'm not saying EXCLUSIVELY African, I said African derivative. That literally provides for other forms of influence, brother.
But those other derivations you named are ALSO Old-World, which gives further credence to the point about the Caribbean being Old World culturally
Why you comparing New York State to California when this thread is about NYC and Los Angeles?
You questioned my point. Did you read what you quoted? This is what I said:
We have more Asians in California-- food quality is directly linked to demographics. The more of a group of people, the better the quality of their food. That's how that works. You "have" Korean food, but the question was WHICH IS BETTER.
You directly responded to that with "we have the most Asians in the country". You quite literally don't, and your Asian population is almost exclusively Chinese which accounts for the lack of variety.
This is Los Angeles county ALONE, which excludes the rest of the Greater Los Angeles area:
You don't have the most Asians in the country breh, because WE DO
