It’s not just African derivative. Jamaican food has African influence but also Amerindian, British, Scot-Irish, Indian, Portuguese, Chinese, Middle Eastern influence

I'm not saying EXCLUSIVELY African, I said African derivative. That literally provides for other forms of influence, brother.

But those other derivations you named are ALSO Old-World, which gives further credence to the point about the Caribbean being Old World culturally

Why you comparing New York State to California when this thread is about NYC and Los Angeles?

You questioned my point. Did you read what you quoted? This is what I said:

We have more Asians in California-- food quality is directly linked to demographics. The more of a group of people, the better the quality of their food. That's how that works. You "have" Korean food, but the question was WHICH IS BETTER.

You directly responded to that with "we have the most Asians in the country". You quite literally don't, and your Asian population is almost exclusively Chinese which accounts for the lack of variety.

This is Los Angeles county ALONE, which excludes the rest of the Greater Los Angeles area:

You don't have the most Asians in the country breh, because WE DO :russ:

What is considered new world then? I can go to a restaurant in NYC like Made In Puerto Rico and get a mofongo while African derived its an orginal dish that was created in the "new world". :patrice:

That's not LA proper, that's the county, before that you put state. Nah, its city vs. city. If you're going to do county then NYC get its areas suburbs and small cities added too. It's a fact NYC, the city proper has the most Asians. NYC proper has the biggest Asian diaspora in one city in the world. It's majority Chinese and Indian but all them other groups are here in good numbers too.

Why we so hung up on this breh :skip:

That's not LA proper, that's the county

The thread didn't specify. And "New York City" is technically only Manhattan, if that's where you want to take this, and that would severely hamper your own argument.

The 5 Boroughs and Long Island are each their own county, so you're trying to use 6 counties against 1 city and then trying to exclude literally everywhere in LA County.

I peeped that :sas2:

If you're going to do county then NYC get its areas suburbs and small cities added too

Fam, I'll give you the entirety of New York State. You can even throw in your little sister Jersey. We still got more Asian people here than NY State.

Again, NO YOU DON'T:

This is all 5 boroughs plus Long Island. That is SIX counties vs our ONE county:

It's not the 5 boroughs+Long Island, its just the 5 boroughs that's what's considered NYC proper. :stopitslime:

NYC proper vs. LA proper, NYC has more Asians. It doesn't even matter because NYC's Asian population is still huge and you still have access to top notch Asian food here and nah its just not Chinese takeout spots.

Dog, there is a (historical) reason you nikkas call Manhattan "The City" :mjlol:

There is no such thing as "NYC proper" unless you're talking about Manhattan. "New York City" is a misnomer, because your "city" encompasses six distinct counties, each with a "borough president" (otherwise known as a Mayor, to normal nikkas lol).

The OP said Los Angeles. Just like NYC, the "city" is broken up into districts. Santa Monica is "LA" just like Torrance is "LA", just like Watts is "LA". This is why the locals you're in here arguing with are using Los Angeles COUNTY.

You not from here so you don't know this.

When you say "Los Angeles" you're literally talking about the Greater Los Angeles area, because there are no defined borders. "LA proper" makes no sense:stopitslime:
