Do you not understand every product/brand has influencers, those people affect EARNED marketing (that which come due to loyalty or affinity with a brand and doesn't require you to create it)...that's what fans are, an EARNED channel for marketing. bey didn't get on twitter and announce this, she didn't pull a jay and start retweeting fans, people saw it and spoke on it, that's not paid nor owned promotion...it's social influence, the exact type of customer loyalty corporations would die for

IF ANYBODY knows about SOMETHING, of course it's "promotion" technically..... If it hasn't been "promoted" somehow, then nobody would know it fukkin existed...


The point Dora was trying (but struggling) to make, is Beyonce did not use any PAID advertising.....


-Jay-Z paid hundreds of thousands (or samsung did) for a 3 minute commercial during the finals
-Eminem paid for all types of commercials / ads on the internet
-Other rappers have ads in magazines, ads on Worldstar, Allhiphop... etc etc etc... over the years...



THEY ALL PAID FOR IT..



All Beyonce did was send out a fukkin tweet, for free (ok it took 5 seconds of her time), and it set the WORLD ON FIRE...



In essence, it's called Viral Marketing.... It's marketing, but it's marketing SHE DID NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR..... She has MILLIONS of people promoting it for her: Retweets, uploads to youtube, word of mouth, blog posts, threads (like this one, you reading right here)...


She didn't pay anyone to make this thread.... So therefore, it's free promotion.... No PAID ADVERTISING, and it has never been done before in the history of music.
