Wouldn't have made more sense to make the bridge more of a curve. Now granted my experience in engineering is limited to building toothpick bridges in Gifted and Talented contests in the 5th grade. Perhaps some better versed in engineering could elucidate me.

Edit: wait that bridge is for TRAINS? :dahell:

Imagine thinking you the next super power country but this is the shyt that makes it off the planning board in your country because of corruption. Unqualified people with stolen credentials. You can only cheat so far.

Between this and the backstory of that Air India crash people need to be very wary of these people. They scam with no limits. At least if this was in Africa the budgets would have been stolen and you wouldn't see this insult of a structure that is just waiting to kill. Rather have nothing built than a death trap. 7 engineers didn't see this issue. Be very wary of India.

[📰 News] In Bhopal, a ₹18 cr railway bridge with 90-degree turn sparks safety row

Commented on Sun Jun 15 06:45:51 2025 UTC

The govt. has defended the Bhopal bridge with 90-degree turn stumps people, officials defend design;

Officials involved in the project, however, have defended the design, citing logistical constraints. Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department (Bridge Department), VD Verma, explained to the news agency PTI, “Due to the metro station, there is limited availability of land at the point. Due to the lack of land, there was no other option. The purpose of the RoB is to connect the two colonies."

He also noted that only small vehicles will be permitted to use the overbridge, and that operations will follow safety protocols and vehicle speed regulations as per the Indian Road Congress. “It will be operated with full safety,” he added.

PWD Minister Rakesh Singh, when asked about the issue, remarked, “After a bridge is built, experts suddenly appear and say such things. A lot of technical aspects are taken into consideration while building any bridge. If this is an allegation, it will be investigated.”

Anyone who works in construction will tell you most of the time engineers are dumb as fukk. Lol
They can be book smart and maybe not street smart but a qualified engineer that went to legit school is going to need to be above average intelligence wise. Let's not embellish so much. I work with engineers all the time. My criticism of some of them has more to do with how they usually do a lot of planning away from the field on paper without consulting other parties or getting practical knowledge before the designs. They tend to overlook what others have to contribute. You don't have to an engineer to be know what's wrong with that bridge

My mistake I watched the video it's an overbridge for vehicle traffic, still a stupid design though a 90 degree turn means you have to come to a complete stop and that bridge is nowhere near wide enough on top of the fact coming to a complete stop will create more traffic. Engineers are dumb as fukk. Lol
