I remember when L took this record up to Stretch and Bobbito to debut it, before it dropped.

Bob asked him the name of the single and L said, "It's called 'Size 'em Up' 'cause sometimes you gotta do that with these n*ggas". And Stretch was like "Ayo! You wanna know his size?!?" Whole room started cracking up. HAHA!!

Good times back then.

not feeling this!!

Same but I've accepted it's moreso for people who are being introduced to Big L. I can't imagine listening to some of the freestyle versions on here going forward instead of just pulling up the originals. But if you never heard the originals this is gonna make you go back and learn more about Big L which is dope.

Rolling Stone did an article with Royce where he speaks on the making of the album. He was a consultant for ensuring the blends sounded right and L was in pocket

A lot of L's music was sold off 15 years ago and this is what's left, and they monetized it for the estate - which is respectable

I also didn't realize that Royce has a neurological condition that prevented him from rapping and recording these past few years (thought it was because Lupe took off his head lol...) apparently he's almost ready to come back

The Coli and these narratives :francis: .

In regard to the thread Royce is a big L fan, and one of the goats when it comes to rappin', makes sense he was brought in for the pocket presence.

Its not really a narrative that Lupe completely decimated Royce and then Mickey Factz popped up and cremated the corpse.

I’m reading a book about the Harlem NFL street crew that Big L and his brother Lee were down with, I’m halfway through and all I can think is the author really hated Lee, makes him sound like a proper prick.

He was as bad as they said, but he was nice and should have become a star.
