of course this thread is based on glory that has almost been forgotten but since Jim Cornette will mention Vince with literally no reason behind it at all I wanted to figure what yr opinion was

Russo partly responsible for rise of the Attitude era and the death of WCW. :yeshrug:

Not sure what Cornette's legacy is.
most I know of him is for being a submanager for yokozuna and his 'shoots'

which is just him talking about how sh-tty Vince/Haitch/Stephanie are all the while not knowing what his accomplishments are :sas2:

Smokey mountain and being a really good manager is higher quality than what Russo did because with Russo the negatives outweigh the positives.

Vince Russo made the concept of wrestling as a tv show or series and that took it to the highest tv ratings in the modern era.
Easily the "bro"

Positives: responsible for the height of the business

Negatives: given the blame for an already sinking ship

Even Ric Flair says the blame he got for WCW is unfounded

Vince Russo

Everyone I know who's to "cool" for wrestling now use to watch the AE:ohhh:

I miss the AE era so much , I use to watch every episode, if I had plans I would work it around RAW

If I couldn't stay up that late, I set the old VHS to record over some Skinemax if need be. Those were the days.....

mr fuji was a better manager then jim cornette & was Smokey Mountain a show that travelled city to city or televised?
It wass televised and he was a big time heel in his day. AE was all Vince,I can't give too much credit to the guy who's claim to fame is a Judy bag well on a pole match

A Mississippi Cotton Field
you'd have to be ULTRA-old school to be a Jim Cornette mark.

I'm talking Rock-n-Roll Express vs Midnight Express feud old school.

I will say he had a big hand in making heel managers just as much of a showcase star as the wrestlers.

Plus a lot of people don't realize it, but Meltzer's rating system is actually Cornette's.

:dead:

but in regards to Russo's writing I think he came up with a lot of good ideas in the AE and the reason why he was successful is because he had McMahon to say 'you know what? that won't work'

him in WCW was simply having full control with nobody to say different
