As a downstate breh, I can tell you that the further south you travel, the redder this state gets

On a street level, most of the brehs downstate don't feel a negative way about Chicago. MAYBE Peoria be on some territorial shít, but other than that, it's all love, even though y'all Chicago brehs call everything downstate the sticks or the boonies
