It's still very early on, but it shouldn't be too hard to pick out some pretenders. I have added a poll for you to choose the 2 teams you think are the biggest pretenders so far
I don't think Carolina is a contender, and they've shown that the last 3 weeks, but I do think they have a chance at the NFC South given how bad that division looks right now. I still think the Saints win it though (they were my SB pick, not giving up on them just yet). Don't think the Bills will also do much more than go .500 this season, even with Orton, though I'd love to be proven wrong on that one. And the Cardinals have looked good so far, but I don't think they continue it into November and December when their schedule gets much tougher
But the biggest pretender in my eyes is the Cowboys. Yes, they're 4-1, but that's one of those things that I still can't figure out. While they're running the ball more effectively, they still have the same fatal flaws that will continue to hold them back. They won a game yesterday they realistically almost gave away many times, and they had to come back from 21 down to beat the Rams of all teams after they dug themselves into the hole with turnovers. And please do not point out how the Cowboys have held 3 of their opponents under 20 points and say that their defense is "all better now!". The Cowboys had 4 games in the first 7 weeks of the season where they held the opposing teams under 20 points, how did that turn out again? Their defense is still patchwork in progress as far as I'm concerned. The NFC East is still the Eagles division to lose. And I'm not in elimination anymore, but if I was, my pick for this week would be Seahawks over Cowboys without hesitation. There is absolutely no way they win that game. I'm thinking 33-14 Seahawks sounds right

At the niccas in here sayin Cowboys goin 8-8 when we got 4 wins already and we play the deadskins twice and the midgets twice. Thats 4 more wins right there. Add in Jacksonville and the bears and that puts us at 10 wins
