Thoughts? I like the current system, and it's not garbage like amateur hour where they take out special teams and important elements of football.:scust:.

This would be just another period (whatever amount of time is determined) to end up having a winner.

“When it’s first team to score, or however the rules are set, or the way it is in college, that’s not the end of the game,” Belichick told WEEI in 2012. “It’s like basketball, you go and play basketball it comes down to the end of regulation, you’re making three-point shots, you’re fouling to get the ball back. OK, great, so now you’re in overtime. It’s the same thing (with a set clock). You get that same strategic element at the end of the basketball game. In football, we’ve lost that with the rules that we have now.” Asked what he wants, Belichick shot back, “Put some time on the clock and play. ... Play to the end of the game. Put 10 minutes, eight minutes (on the clock), whatever we decide.”

Naw, football is different, it's easy to go 10 mins without anyone scoring, or just trading FG's, shyt you way more liable to play 10 more mins or 5 more mins and the score is still tied.

They need to copy college FOOTBALL rules (with some tweaks), not basketball.

I agree. I'd like to add an extra quarter of football. Keeps the elements of the game the same.

Make it 5 minutes and whoever has the most points, wins.

If nobody scores, the winner is whoever has the most yards in the overtime period.

If that is a tie, the winner is the quarterback with the highest jersey number.

If that is the same, the winner is the team who's city has the highest metro population

:what:.

You're sounds like this man.:mjlol:.

ways to improve the game... ratings are down, general interest is down, here's a quick fix.:yeshrug:

1. Scheduling is awful. eliminate the whole "if u finish in 3rd place, u play the 3rd place team of such and such division" etc. it creates random ass games between Tampa Bay & Chiefs etc. Should focus on building rivalries. create a Rivalry Week. i.e. 49ers/Raiders should play every year.. Pats/Seahawks, Eagles/Steelers.. Redskins/Ravens....etc.

2. Make It, Take It. if you score u get the ball back until the defense stops you.

3. Yards Carrying Over: If it's 2nd and 7. and u get 11 yards on the play, that extra 4 yards should carry over. so it would be 1st and 6.

4. Stop putting the AFC South on Television, not just National T.V., just stop putting them on local TV either.

5. Offensive holding should be a 5 yard penalty. 10 yard penalties are drive killers.. nobody wants to see a 3rd and 26 every other play.

6. Add an extra Wild-Card Play-In game for each conferences, sorta like they do in MLB.

7. Eliminate the National Anthem, and all the fake military salute shyt.

8. Stop starting games at 10am for the West Coast.. start the early games at 1pm PT. Keep Primetime at 5pm PT for us.

9. Get rid of the Cleveland Browns, Jaguars,

10. Get rid of TNF.... move MNF back to ABC.. stop letting CBS drown out crowd noises during telecasts.

There you have it, I should copyright this stuff incase the NFL steals these ideas.. but whatever..:ehh:

Interesting idea, this is kinda how it is in the playoffs though since you can't tie. :ehh: It'll keep going til someone scores so double and triple OT is possible in football. Not sure if it would alleviate ties or low scoring though. Plus who's to say that the players would be cool with having to play an extra quarter of football? If nothing else, a game like Bucs/Raiders from last year would've been even more interesting.

ITS FINE THE WAY IT IS NOW.

IT WAS EVEN BETTER BEFORE THEY PUT IN THE CURRENT SYSTEM.

THIS JUST RISKS MORE INJURIES
FROM TIRED PLAYERS.
