why is it okay to hunt deers n shyt due to overpopulation but when it comes to hypothetically depleting the human species we're like ?

and the answer better not be "well...... because we're humans and we're better than those animals".....because we'll dread the day when we come in contact with an intellectually superior alien species from another planet who might feel the same way about us.
