I actually agree with Bill on a lot of what he said.
(1) It was an AMERICAN who killed 50 people...
(2) The majority of people with Mental Illness DON'T commit premeditated massacres...
(3) Chicago has the toughest gun laws, and Chicago has one of the highest murder rates...What a SHORT SIGHTED argument...It DOES NOT MATTER if Chicago has the toughest gun laws, as long as you can legally buy an assault riffle in a neighboring states, then the Chicago gun laws DON'T MEAN SH@T...
What is going to stop a gun nut from travelling to a neighboring state with easier gun excess, and buying guns?
What is going to stop somebody in a state with easy gun laws from buying guns legally, scratching the serials and selling them for some extra money to make ends meet?
If your gun is not locked up in safe, what is going to stop a criminal from breaking into your house and stealing your guns?
What is going to stop crooked people at the manufacturing plants from stealing guns and selling them on the black market?
There are so many ways to get access to guns in the USA that one state's strict gun laws is not going to prevent sh@t...
The Federal government NEEDS to have the SAME gun regulations across all 50 states...
(4) So, more people in jail is the solution...? Australia banned guns and had a big decrease in gun violence and they have less people in jails per capita than the USA, so isn't a better solution BANNING GUNS...?
(5) Dude wants to "congress to declare war on Islamic Jihad"...What the f@ck? Look at what the "war on drugs" did to the Black Community...More people in jail...There is no such a thing as a "war on Islamic Jihadist" because it is plainly a "war on Islam"...
More American Muslims will be put in jails than the so called "terrorists" if such a war was declared...
(6) Dude wants people to be detained forever based on a suspicion of "terrorism"...American jails are already PACKED with people waiting for due process...Now this dude wants to add to those numbers...
(7) So, declare war...More young "disposable heroes" die...Put in place a puppet government, that gets overthrown down the line or becomes the next "terrorist rogue state"...Basically, more of the same i.e. let's make money with wars and prisons...
(8) This guy is suggesting a perpetual war on a faceless enemy...
(9) "Guns are a problem in the hands of criminals and terrorists"...What the fcuk? Guns are a BIG PROBLEM in the hands of Americans...A law abiding American went to a store, bought an assault rifle and premeditated to kill a many people and he succeeded...
How do you know your next door neighbor is not going to be the next dude being demonized for being a "mentally unstable" or a "Jihadist Terrorist"...
