Didn't this old nikka play when the league was mostly slow short cacs :mjlol:

Who didn't even try on defense, didn't have developed moves, didn't run plays most of the time, jacked up low-% shots with no conscious, and didn't have a three-point line.

Anyone comparing bball in the 1960s to today's era is living in lala land.

Bill Russell was an absolute great because he had fantastic bball IQ, actually started playing hard on defense unlike everyone else, and worked his ass off. But if bball IQ and hard work on defense was all it took, there'd be dozens of Bill Russells today. The skill level and competition level is MUCH higher now than it was then, so you really can't compare them.

This dude said Ewing over Russell
:heh:

I can tell you never saw prime patrick ewing play.He had post moves, fadeaways, drop steps, could defend the rim and averaged 23+ and 10+ with 2-3 blocks a game with a very nice mid range jumper

He was way more skilled and did it an era where their were a bunch of very good 5's I'd take that over bill russell any day of the week

Al Horford is 30-40 pounds heavier than Bill Russell.

The point being made was whether at 6'9", Bill Russell could play as a Center.

I named Al Horford as one of two players (the other Ben Wallace) in the modern era who played Center at 6'9".

Moreover, weight doesn't determine whether one can play effectively as a Center or a Power Forward.

No, doggie. The point is whether he could play at center AT HIS SIZE. You don't get to eliminate weight from the equation, because you think it helps your silly ass argument.

This dude was smaller than Tmac, and you're arguing that he's a center today... comparing him to players that outweigh him by 30-40 pounds.

By your standard of "He's 6'9!" - Steve Novak could play center.
