So they stayed afloat because of Marcus Camby ?

Marcus Camby as rookie made an immediate impact and also filled the center position if they take Nash they get no better and they probably get the #1 pick where they without Marcus Camby take Mike Olowokandi and without Vince Carter or an AI type figure they either fold or leave Toronto

How are they on the same level? What black man can average 7pts and 4 dimes a game for 4 seasons and then become good at 27 in his 6th year and be considered at the same level as guy who put up 23/7 and dominated at 21 rookie season? AI was an elite player for several coaches/systems and Nash was only elite with MDAs system. Just cuz he was an all star in Dallas after 4 tries doesn’t mean he was elite he was just a good player who was great later in his career.

They were on the same level as far as impact goes

Both were great players but not good enough to win a championship as the best player their team

A.I. was better at taking over games offensively which is why I gave him the slight edge

When you break down Nash and Iverson's strengths and weaknesses, they are pretty much the same

I've never heard anyone say Nash wasn't an elite player. You can't discredit Nash for being in MDA's system either. Nash improved as a player even at the age of 27

I don’t really feel like defending why Steve Nash is a good basketball player

but what I will say is understand if your argument is “player x was only good because he had talent” and player x won multiple mvps and is a 40/50/90 shooter; it’s not a very strong argument

Raptors werent going to fold regardless...Camby was a decent player as rookie but he is not the impact player youre stating he was....i agree Nash wouldnt have helped right away and he wouldnt have started over Damon Stoudamire but ur making Camby out to be more than he was....he wasnt a star...

Raptors werent going to leave or fold that is apopular myth told by ppl who dont know any better as a way of turning VC's arrival into a disney fairytale.

The year Vince was drafted Raps were sold to MLSE which is the same group that owns them today theyre a billion dollar corporation...Raps were not going anywhere.

All things considered he's right. It's the tale of 2 halves of careers. Nash was a bust, Iverson was a franchise player. Nash eventually became what a lot thought he'd be. Iverson became a cancer. Not shocking,

I always wonder how Iverson's legacy would have went if he joined that Cavs team in 09/10.

I know he was 34, but felt he could still give you more when needed than Mo Williams.

Nah Nash cannot carry your team single handedly and Iverson although not a great defender routinely guarded larger players. People are beginning to overate Nash smh. It also didn't take Iverson over half a decade to get use to NBA speed lol.
