Basically, billionaires are building their doomsday bunkers so they can hide when shyt hits the fan either in the form of a nuclear war they encouraged or stronger and more dangerous natural disasters that will lead to climate barbarism(look it up).
But ironically, there hasn't been a situation where any group of people has been able to live in a closed system(no outside resources, no natural light/weather) without going insane within a few months. It's the reason why researchers in Antarctica can't stay there for years on end, and it's the reason why the biosphere experiment failed.
Billionaires either know this but feel that they will be the exception somehow, or they don't know this. I think Zuckerberg understands this on some level and that is why he's invested heavily in mixed martial arts. If he can kill someone with his bare hands, I think he assumes everyone will fall in line and nobody will turn against him and try to control the bunker for themselves.
It gives me a small measure of hope to think that even if the rest of us don't make it, these people will be trapped in a prison that they spent billions to create. Billions of dollars that no longer have meaning because the banks are all rubble. When humans are in survival mode, they have less of a tolerance for inequality and no distractions to keep that tolerance going. At best, these guys will be easily overwhelmed and killed by the people in their bunkers, at worst, they will be the king of an asylum that continues to shrink every year as people go insane from the isolation and kill themselves and/or others.
