People listing Pharrell and not The Neptunes when talking production will never sit right with me. Automatically not taking the opinion seriously at that point.

Listing Andre 3000 and no Mr. DJ or Organized Noize for GA is bogus.

Gillie is from Philly and he couldn't even list Scott Storch.

He’s a rapper what’s your credentials to question him - JBP :flabbynsick:

And Bink! Is a funny dude, Pete Rock too. Before the internet I’d never assume that they were that corny, dudes act like some bytch made early 20s rappers from this era sometimes

Bink be wylin but there's definitely something to be said about the half assed nonsense podcast people post about hip hop. They aren't journalists, they don't give a fukk about getting anything right, everything they post is about garnering engagement as quickly as possible. Which is gonna result in misses like this. It sucks but this is the type of low effort shyt we're gonna be subject to for the rest of our lives. And BTW...it paves the way for history to be rewritten and b*stardized.

Bink got his first placement with Teddy Riley...

Teddy Riley needs his flowers providing us with Bink and Neptunes

That early part of his career where he had those placements on that Lost Boyz' second album was slept on. He had that sound before it became a thing. Too bad that everyone was getting jiggy and running around with bandanas from 1997-1999.

Scott Storch not really from Philly either. He from NY or someplace. He barely lived in Philly, but only got his first placement with The Roots.

But at the level they're talking about, as far as hip-hop based producers, there's only a handful. Neptunes, Timbaland, Puff (yes, we know it's not really Puff), Teddy Riley, JD, Dre, Swizz & Kanye. You can prob name 1 or 2 more, but that's it. Whether or not those are the best is another discussion.
