Do you really like parents sending cupcakes, cakes, cookies, and shyt to your children classroom. Man, I don't know where or who this shyt be coming from. I swear I think some of these parents do that shyt to try to get attention for their children. If I was a teacher I wouldn't like having to organize old stupid shyt like that with a bunch of kids. Plus, what about the kids whose birthdays aren't during the school year.

This is my daughter's first year in school and I plan on sending cupcakes. :manny: I don't really care how other parents/children feel, just eat the cupcake and shut it. I mean if there is a child with a food allergy, I'd be happy to swap to something everyone can enjoy but just because some kid's birthday is in the summer is not going to stop me from celebrating my child's b-day since it falls within a school year.

I plan on volunteering the day my daughter's party will be on so hopefully that would put some strain off the teacher.

My daughter is having a separate party as well. School kids are different than "other" friends

You kidding me? This is the greatest time for everyone, teachers included!
- You get to unwind after some tough lessons
- the kids can get rid of excess energy to concentrate for the next lesson (plus you can offer them as incentive for actually behaving in class :youngsabo:)
- you don't gotta tell the kids to settle down all the time like during the rest of the year
- It boosts the morales of the students, especially if the kid who's having the birthday party is having a bad year.

And you really think those summer kids are left out?

Sure, because they're really sad they abt to get free cake out of nowhere about 4-5 times a year.
