Bittersweet: Lanny Poffo has given WWE the OK.......but...........

In the past, Lanny Poffo, brother of the late Randy Savage, has maintained that Savage's wishes were for the entire Poffo family to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, otherwise he was not interested in being inducted by himself.
In a recent interview conducted for PWTorch.com, Poffo had the following to say regarding his brother Randy Savage being inducted:

"I gave them [WWE] permission to do it without my permission. Just don’t invite me and don’t pay me. I don’t need their 30 pieces of silver to defy my brother’s wishes. Kayfabe Commentaries had my best interview regarding the reasons Randy had for this position."

Remember, it was Randy who wanted the family in and wouldn't go in by himself :wo-- nah fukk that...

They might as well just induct the whole family if that's the smoothest way to get Randy in.

I mean, why not? There are already weaker inductees than Lanny or Angelo Poffo in the Hall of Fame. No need to worry about damaging its rep.

Just make sure that 90% of that induction ceremony is devoted to the Macho Man.

Yeah it is confusing, but it's like this:

WWE apparently is at least considering inducting Randy.
Randy, before he died, told his family that he wasn't interested in being inducted unless his brother Lanny and father were inducted along with him.
Lanny told WWE this. WWE wasn't crazy about that idea. So there was a stalemate.
Finally Lanny said "Fine, go ahead and induct him, but I don't want anything to do with it."

So the bottom line is that nothing is happening at the moment. WWE doesn't want to induct Randy without the family's approval, but the family won't approve unless Randy's wishes are met and the whole family gets inducted.

Hogan's the obvious choice, but DDP actually makes a lot of sense and is probably more likely if it were happening now.

I saw an interview with Steamboat once where he admitted he really didn't even know Savage that well and hadn't spoken to him in years. No animosity at all, just not a very close relationship.

It's really not that big of a deal to just go ahead and induct the whole family. That outlaw promotion they ran is a special part of wrestling history and The Genius is just as worthy of an induction as Koko B. Ware. They can always still hype the fukk out of Macho and focus on him.

As far as why they deserve to be in I can't say, The Genius wasn't a legendary superstar in any way, however, their pops was a wrestler
