Before you can understand the African American male or female, you must understand how the mindset of a colonized people thinks. For the most part, their actions will be drastically different than those who come from a non colonized country or status. For example, American black men are in a first-world country where most of the world's decisions are made none-the-less many of us decide to take on the gangster persona by living our lives as if we're in a poverty-stricken third world country where there's no opportunity or upward mobility.
Unlike our forefathers, black American men have become complacent in this first world country which has caused the family structure as well as entire communities to fall apart. The sense of accountability for inappropriate actors within the community is a foreign concept to them. Then these same folks wonder why crime is high within their neighborhoods coupled with the desire for the black people in that community to leave not fix the problems.
American black people do not like fixing problems instead they'd rather move to a white neighborhood to escape the dysfunction but then complain about how racism is prevalent in those white neighborhoods after a few years living there.
When you don't fix problems by running away from them they will never be fixed and you will see yourself dealing with them at a later date. These problems have followed black Americans for several generations which is strange because a normal logical thinking people would have come up with solutions to the issues affecting their communities but again we're talking about a colonized group of people who reject critical thinking skills.
For example, if police officers are harassing black people then there should be more black lawyers, if employers are discriminating against black people, then there should be more black business owners,if the schools aren't teaching our children properly, then there should be more black schools.
Solutions are what logical non colonized people look for, instead black American men rather whine, complain and point the finger at whitey as if the world doesn't know they are racist.
Failure to take authority within the community that we populate as well as the lack of collective accountability is the reason why the American black community is in the predicament it seen today. This is also why you see a portion of caribbeans, Africans and other foreign black people who come to America trying to distinguish or distance themselves from African Americans.
