How can someone with two black parents so readily identify with someone who has a white mother?
:aicmon:

Because that's what we as Black people do, and we've always done it. Cause back in the slaves, it was the Blacks who raised and looked after that child who was the masters' offspring.

Like I said, being Black ain't just about color, i've seen it myself growing up, we had kids around us, who are mixed, and we all knew they are mixed, but we never thought they weren't one of us, we all knew one of their parents was White. But it made no difference to us.

If you look at Black people as whole, we don't exclude(in most cases), we include, and we welcome. And I for one, hope it stays this way

1. The face of political party that has largely been for "us" by "us" is made up of "other".

2. If these "others" decided to pull out and go independent it would sink any progress black Americans have made. I was asking what people thought about this.

How many generations to be considered mixed race... white parent, white grandparent, white great grandparent? "me no black papi".. :comeon:

But he did. Obama's experience in particular is about as different from the typical black American experience BECAUSE HE ISN'T BLACK AMERICAN. :skip: He has a white mother and a Kenyan father. Unless you solely understand his plight because his father was absentee.

He grew up in a white household, because he is half white. He dated white women majority of his life because he is half white.

Again what significance does the struggle of black Americans in the past have to do with Barrack Obama today?

How can someone with two black parents so readily identify with someone who has a white mother?
:aicmon:
:what: He wouldn't even have a right to participate in the political process if it wasn't for black americans who came before him...

My cousin was one of the 4 little girls blown up in the Birmingham 16th street baptist church... Their deaths was apart of a series of events that eventually lead to us gaining rights to vote...

If you are a person of color and live in america, you benefit from the struggle that people of color went through before you...

I'm sorry for your loss and I know all about 4 little girls but why is a bi-racial man carrying the torch for black Americans?

Do you think a full black American(two black parents) could get that shine?

Black Americans...we really have no knowledge of our native language and culture from Africa for obvious reason. So yeah we can be accepting and welcoming...it would be contradictory to not to.:ld:

Because he is the first president of color? That fact that a person of color(More specifically someone who looks like you and I) is in the white house is a great accomplishment to many people, including black americans. White people and biracial people can feel pride in Obama just like Black people... No one is stopping them...

What do you mean by "get that shine"... Do I think a fully black president can get elected as president? ofcourse...

This thread illustrates how black Americans and Americans in general are getting stupider and dumber by the fukking day. Its clear that the TS and the other ******s and cacs cosigning that idiot dont know shyt about the history of black people, or this country in general. The fact that the TS can post such an ignorant statement and people are sitting here cosigning him just goes to show that the overall IQ on this board is at a dearth not even the most pessimistic posters could ever imagine.

First off, the entire idea of "mixed race" is a social construct and has absolutely NO BIOLOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE. This is the case with all humans, but is especially the case with Africans and Mixed race individuals, since the genotypic differences between mixed race and black peoples are so minimal. All human beings share 99.99% of the same genes, so the slight phenotypic differences in skin tone literally have a minuscule effect on the abilities of a group of people. This is the reason why the whitest person from one corner of the earth can mate with the darkest person from another corner of the earth and produce a baby. BECAUSE WE LITERALLY share 99.99% of the same DNA. So in a nut shell, SKIN TONE HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH ONES ABILITY MORONS! The fact that this is even a debatable topic goes to show that you ******s have been thoroughly brainwashed in to believing the "white is right" meme that cac's have been pushing upon you for the past 400 years. The fact that you have morons in here still actively pushing for new classifications to differentiate themselves as being part white is pathetic, especially since c00ns from the early 1900's has already attempted this. (Anyone remember the macroon, quadroon, and octaroon classifications of the late 1800's- early 1900's?)

Secondly, the only reason that some mixed race people have been able to achieve more success than their darker skin bretheren in the arena of politics and public speaking almost is a direct result of the lighter skin tones being more palatable to white people. This is especially the case with Barack Obama. The fact that he is half white and was raised by white people is part of the "charm" that many white people found with Obama that allowed them to overcome their race anxiety and cast a vote for the man. Of course Obama is an intelligent BROTHER and is more than capable of doing the job, but his skin color allowed him to gain favour with white people. The fact that he is light skin played literally NO role in his capability to govern, but played a crucial role in his electability.

Hell, using this same argument, great leaders from the African continent are almost ALWAYS dark skin brothers and sisters? Why is that you ask? Because the majority of the population are dark skinned blacks, hence they tend to identify with their dark skin brethren. Hence many of the community leaders, presidents, and other popular figures tend to be of the darker persuasion. There are still many fair skin black peoples on the African continent as well, but due to people's biases against light skin brethren, they do not achieve the same level of political achievement you see light skin brothers achieving in Western societies, primarily due to ignorant biases and not based on lack of capability.

So in all, in the Western world light skin simply gains favor with WHITE PEOPLE. Since white people run the show, they tend to feel more comfortable with blacks that have a lighter shade then the typical black person. This has been the case in all the countries colonized by white people especially in America and the Carribean. Many mixed race people were the first to be chosen to attend professional school or elected to public office in America for this very same reason. The fact that white people feel more comfortable around mixed race people when compared to black does not mean that mixed race people are some how "not black", "superior to blacks", or "different than blacks." The reality of the situation, all people are descendants of blacks, but mixed race people are especially so by virtue of the high concentration of melanin compared with those of lighter races.

At the end of the day, crackas still consider all of us blacks, so stupid thread like these do nothing but further destroy the already fragile bond that exists amongst black people.

You dummies need to wake the fukk up!

The rest of your post was stupid but this is by far the most ignorant statement.

This coincides with the fact that from politics to beauty pageants there is really no bias of light skin men, women in Africa. In fact bi-racial, light skin or white is acceptable especially in politics when a President can have a white wife. That would never happen in America. Ask Harold Ford.

Black americans=African americans. Mixed races people had no other race to cling to but black americans. They benefit from us not the other way around. Most leaders, inventors etc were full black. The overall culture in modern times of being black period, on a global scale, is heavily black american/african american influenced. You got blks in canada and great britain/europe talking about black american icons as if they were their own

Barack obama is in office because of mlk, someone who is full black lol and all of the thouands of full blacks that protested and marched during the civil rights era. His success is a direct reflection of that era/movement

And if white anglo saxon derived white americans can claim Mediterranean european empires like rome and greece. Than black americans can claim east/north african empires like egypt and nubia

Real talk african americans dont have to go back thousands of years to find greatness. We have done more to redeem the blk race in the last 200 years than any other in the african diaspora
