If there ever was a time for solidarity, the time is now. The end of due process for immigrants is the end of due process for everyone.

When I read headlines about Immigration and Customs Enforcement and National Guard deployments in Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington, DC, – and now possibly Charlotte, North Carolina, and New Orleans – childhood trauma resurfaces. As a Black, first-generation citizen born in the United States, who grew up in an overpoliced immigrant community, I feel echoes of painful memories.

While I don’t like ICE in black neighborhoods and have seen enough military campaigns in my life to know that putting soldiers on the streets to take out a specific group always turns into the soldiers turning on everyone in the occupied area, I think immigrants need to kiss our ass, formally apologize and acknowledge NONE of them would be here without the battles and bloodshed that black Americans have fought, before we lift a finger to type anything, let alone show up to a protest.

Yesterday’s price is not today’s price. A wise man could make some power moves in this climate.

There was always a disconnect between the black political left and everyday black Americans when it came to immigrants.

I heard many black Americans say years before the fba or ados movement existed that they weren't really feeling African immigrants like that. They tried to embrace them but many Let it known that we want the same or they wasn't feeling us.

Asians stores literally got burnt out In the 92 riots cause of lack of respect to black Americans.

Also the cardi b of the world who are rejects In the Hispanic community and come to the black American community with negativity and Ratchness she could never pull in the Hispanic community.

Black Americans are tired of non fba who are rejects in they country or community. coming into our community and using us for benefit.

I feel like this applies those who feel entitled to the fba community and support not all immigrants

Jamaican do this the least out of all non fba

Black people did stand up for immigrants. We voted for Democrats and humane policies.

Immigrants are the ones that didn't stand up for immigrants.

On a side note why do immigrants never ask White people to to stand up for immigrants? When many immigrants come here they hate African Americans and love White people. When immigrants get that inevitable foreseeable work from the White people they love so much then they start talking that alliance shyt with Black people

I don't suck up to anyone, but one of the things I appreciate about African Americans is the people they've given me to look up to.

I take pride in being a british born Jamaican. I respect my people's struggles, my people's ability to laughter out of bad, my people's ability to endure. And I also recognise that growing up in a racist shyt hole, the likes of Muhammad Ali, Malcolm X, Dr King etc. kept me sane.

As far growing up in a white majority country with racist shyt houses, that is the struggle I related so the dignity they showed is what inspired me.

I say all of that to say to "Enough has been done". There's a point where it becomes to selfish to ask for more instead of asking what you can give.
