black american has ran global pop culture for decades for a reason. Nonetheless, people are individuals and I’m sure these fluctuate from person to person

More importantly, the stuff you guys consume and spend time thinking about can’t be conducive of a healthy mind. like who sits at home thinking about this stuff?

it’s been already posted on here … with that said - what he said is interesting, but I’m a bit confused on his analogy
Of him saying black Americans have high levels of confidence and low levels of self-esteem while Africans and Caribbean’s are the opposite

I always assumed that confidence and self-esteem are pretty much the same thing :manny:

half of those replies are ridiculing the threads/posters - the other half are jokes as evidenced by your screenshot :dead:

moreover i said nothing about life improvement - i said conducive of a healthy mind - but if discussions about which diaspora groups are/have more confidence and self-esteem are precious to yall and said mind state :hubie:

Above the fray.
Disagree with his opinions.

His comment about duration of slavery in the different regions is off.

Chattel slavery generally went on for a longer span in the Caribbean than in modern mainland USA.

In many of the islands, the plantation system began before the 1600s began. Many of the colonies changed hands during that era. The British controlled Caribbean abolished slavery in the 1830s. In Cuba slavery ended in the 1880s, in PR in the 1870s.

And in mainland USA, different Northern states abolished slavery years and decades ahead of 1865.

I dunno, this sounds confusing to me. I'll need to listen to more of his talks and maybe read some of his books, I need more context of where this statement came from cause his explanation in this video doesn't really help
