"Expanding my brand" is code word for "I want more white people to like me so I can make more money so ima sell out by making wack shyt only I white person could luv,damn what y'all nikkas think:mjpls:.".....I think that sums it up or do I need to go further on why not only is it bad for the music,but why this thought proccess is flawed and usually fails horribly:russ:...but it feels good to see a blaytant sell out fall right on they face

that's the thing...i think artists can expand their brand organically. hip hop is a global entity now. it's just the fact that we seek approval outside of our own communities and networks to brand and build, often selling ourselves short is really what makes someone considered a "sell out"

building a brand isn't the problem....it's cheapening it too early. if artists never learn the infrastructure of how a brand is built and just sell out to whitey, how will they ever be true bosses or executives? they just outsource the work to the giant machine. then they just record, tour, post videos...you know...the nikka shyt. while they never care to peak into the innerworkings of how things spread on a global level. they just want the affiliation and approval so bad, rather than doing what it takes to peek behind the curtain. they'd rather name drop their sponsors than crack the code.
