  • maatistruthOk. Now I enjoy watching this young man play as much as the next, but wuts the science on his comments? Read his caption. "MY OWNER IS SWAGGIER THAN URS". No grown man shud ever be referring to someone as his owner at any point in time, and wut his comment suggests is a sort of cognitive dissonance which is revolting and sorrowful. I wept inside when I read it because words have power. That's why they taught u spelling as a child. It's as if he never learned anything abt#OURSTORY. What he is deafly unaware of is the slave mentality he exhibits w/ this reference to an old white man as being his owner. Smh. This is clearly why we need Afrikan centered education. Our children are full of talent, but blind and naked in the world when it comes to knowledge of self and self-esteem. This man is 6'7" and plays for a team who's mascot is a black panther. Am I the only one who sees the intentional irony in that? #knowurstory#blackmen#afrikan#afrikanmen
  • maatistruthIt makes me wonder if Afrikans on the plantation argued over whose owner was better, more kind or lenient, or easy to get over on or more cruel and devilish.

I get what OP is hinting at but I am so sick and tired of the "athlete is a slave" BS narrative :camby:

Playing sports is a CHOICE (see Megatron retiring) and slavery was forced labor

Athletes (like Cam) are Millionaires are able to change their families lives for generations if they are smart with their money...slaves weren't paid

Cam could turn his money into a vehicle to create thousands of opportunities for black people years to come. Without football, he may never have these opportunities. The brother is doing GREAT things on the field and off the field and we need to unite around him instead of worrying that he is friendly with the "white owner" who drafted him.

I think dude is referring to the fact he's bragging about his owner "My owner is better than yours" type of thing.

Even then, the point still stands.

Dude prolly has a job. In that case, he has a boss.
If he thinks working with his boss is better than working for another boss, then it's the same chit.
