Leave that conscious stuff alone and read more enlightened books which can empower you.
I'm currently reading this. Title is kinda funny but it's 100% truth.

anything on capitalism, colonialism, state formation and institution building. the rest is a waste of time.

If I tried to troll, I couldn't do any better than your post.

@Regine Hunter:

The Autobiography of Malcolm X by Malcolm X & Alex Haley
Seize the Time by Bobby Seale
The Wretched of the Earth by Frantz Fanon

Start with those three and you'll be on your way :salute:. I'd probably read them in the order above, too. Fanon's writing can be tough.

What books do you recommend brehs?

referring to this threads title, "black" consciousness literature could mean:

....information on topics such as economics, racisim, social justice, religion etc. pertaining to black people soley, is this what you mean?

OR

.....black authors who wrote on the topic of 'consciousness', is this what you mean?

OR

.....consicousness / enlightenment that is particularly for "black" people, is this what you mean? (If so, I'm afraid theres no "black" consciousness; there is only consciousness / enlightenment / wisdom / etc.. and It's there for all who desire).
.

I recommend browsing the thread below if you havent yet. You should be able to pick out some gems
