You think the Buyers valued that lane at $13.6M? That’s 3/8ths of a square mile in probably the richest state in the US. They should have partnered with the group building the resort instead. Then they'd still have part ownership and an income stream instead of a windfall split X ways.
Or a 99 year lease

Rich people and corporations are buying land all over the globe and these black people are selling theirs. SMH.
oh please, they would have been fools to not take it. what's that land to 13 million. plus, apparently they are Liberians, they can go a long way with that money. they were able to flip 5.5 mill in less than 2 years.

The sale aint the issue......I just hope they got a good deal on the price...236 acress is a fair chunk of land and depending on location could be worth quite a lot

Somewhat related. Feds really need to crack down on this shyt. Politicians love talking about the "middle class" but how the hell can people move up to the middle class or remain there if they have to compete with Corporations for housing?

Are you trying to ban landlords (cc @Wiseborn) or ban corporations from being landlords?

my personal (possibly biased thoughts):

A corporation created to only buy real estate I think is fine (example if me and my friends invest together under 1 corp to buy mutliple properties over the years. Lets say 1-2 properties a year).

A corporation like Zillow that buys thousands of properties a year is wrong though.

First time home buyers should have priority over everyone.

Should pause non Americans buying houses for a few years, including corporations. Im not talking about people moving to America and buying houses. I am talking Europeans and Asians buying houses, while living there, and flipping them at higher costs to actual Americans.

I'd go one step further.

I would impose a punitive tax on more than 1 house per person/2 per couple. No one needs more than 1/2 homes.
