I always implore everyone to ask questions when it comes to medical care. I also know making a viral video accusing my hospital of racism is a quick way to get my black ass fired even if I’ve been here for 10 years…

Yeah the medical field is where racism really plays out and where affirmative action really is going to hurt unless HBCUs step up massively and pump out enough doctors and nurses. These cacs Indians and Asians don’t give a damn about Black people especially poor black people .

Op wanted to go viral, could have said what he said, and not post his face, also, the health care system is profit oriented, I’m not going to say it’s no racism cuz it is, but more likely than not, they got they admin basically telling you hurry up with all your patients, you got people over worked and under paid too. You also have egos in the medical field, so rather than have an actual conversation, they already have the stuff (in their mind figured out) which is a terrible way to approach patient care

But on the flip tip, you have patients who swear they know more than you, don’t follow instructions, doing opposite of your recommendations (I’ll never forget had a patient who was in chemo smoking outside the office) :what: unreliable historians (can’t tell you what doctor they seen, why, what they did, how long ago, what were the results) i make sure to pull to the side every one black and say you gotta be a better custodian over your health journey, ask questions, have them explain to you, why they are doing what they are doing, and what are the expectations of results then what, should you follow up, if so with who

Anyone who has watched the documentary “Aftershock” on Hulu can attest to this. Make sure you pick and know your midwife inside out people. :francis:
