1) If anyone is in a position of POWER and KNOWLEDGE on how to publish textbooks - it's this person. It's professors that write textbooks and curriculum

2) "took on the responsibility of correcting what I saw" - is the whole point of home schooling.

How many HBCU's do we have? Lots.
How many Af/Am Studies Majors are out there? Tons.
How much Black History for Kids is out there? A grip.

Tariffs aren't gonna do shyt! DoE doesn't teach our children, teachers do. Teachers depend on funding. Yanking funding without replacement means schools and other programs for poor kids are getting closed down. Period. If you want poor kids to lose programs, just say that.

As a matter of fact, Republicans just got federal funding released that Trump held up to help education programs because it was hurting their constituents. All that "do for self" shyt is nonsense. Always has been. We pay taxes for these services, and we deserve them.

I'm so glad to see this being addressed! If we had children, or if we raise any in the future, the plan was always to homeschool. Years ago, I'd glanced across the widely available curricula and, yikes, I was clearly gonna have to put something together myself (with the help of the MANY educators in the fam, ofc).

The government was a full participant in running them off their land and into reservations. Europeans came over here in the 1500s looking for gold and to take over land. There's nothing spectacular about the start of modern America.

The Roman Catholic Church was deeply involved in the whole thing.

You won't get this history in school. You will have to read and discover for yourself and put it all together.

Even today the colonization effort is in full effect. They underpay countries for natural resources to keep them poor and dependent.
