No other group tries to keep the undesirables in... Sorry but class exists. I really have a hard time understanding how some of the flashiest, ostentatious and show offish people on the planet can love money so much, but absolutely despise the idea of class. THIS IS A CAPITALISTIC SOCIETY. Capitalism is based off of inequality. This isn't Noah's Ark. Some people are too far gone. This isn't the movie where the bad guy will always lose and the meek end up ruling the world. In REAL LIFE, the bad guy can and usually will win. This thread is full of people thinking on a humanitarian level and that's noble, that's great, but that mentality is not conducive to creating a better community.

I swear you say shyt just to say it. The biggest problem the black community faces is unity. ALL other races/communities pride themselves on sticking together and helping those in need. You don't see any homeless Asians because some Asian family somewhere will always take them in. Black people have the largest economic spread, meaning we have plenty of millionaires and powerful people, yet we still have plenty of starving impoverished people. And the reason is that after we "make it" we have a tendency to turn our back on our own people.

Those of us that are succesful need to give the kids positive examples instead of just writing them off because their parents are stupid.

What your forgetting is, society has changed. Back then a person could literally just work hard and they would at least be able to feed themselves and their family. Now a person can work hard and do everything right and yet still not be able to support themselves or their family. America made it to be such a succesful county because it's citizens have always worked together for the greater good of the country. People have always sacrificed for those that needed it in this country.

People like you like to make this false assumption that all people on public assistance are poor, lazy and unmotivated. When the truth is, the percentage of people that fit this description is very low compared to families that actualy use the assistance to better themselves and contribute to society. If you've ever got school loans, tax credits/exemptions, emergency health service, SSI, unemployment, or gone to public school, you have received public assistance, and it's this public assistance that helps us ALL be competitive in these changing times. The idea is that by offering these public assistance programs now, more Americans will be succesful in the future, and in turn will contribute to well being of America.

Back then "public assistance" was fertile land, and a space to cut out a living. These things were made available by the hard work of ALL Americans. without those things, people couldnt afford to take care of their kids either. The type of "public assistance" has changed, but the idea stays the same.

Helping out goes beyond going out to the trailer parks and passing out money. Plenty of white kids are given opportunities at prestigious schools/internships/jobs because a more wealthy/powerful white person helped them get there. If the people that took you in had the same "don't help others" attitude as allot of people in this thread, then you would have been fukked, but luckily society worked out for you and you seem to be ok.

And it's easy to say that a person shouldn't have kids if they can't afford them but in today's society a person needs to be making damn there 100k in order to "afford" a kid without any type of assistance. Most people NEVER make that type of money and those that do usually don't until later in life. So should people be waiting untill they're 40 to have their first kid?
