Do they have online?

They have have subscriptions online and subscriptions to those who want it dropped off or mailed. Just printing papers to be printing papers and they ain't selling ain't the wave.

While this is true, they would still need marketing and promotion, no?

Above the fray.
I remember the remaining legacy newspapers joined forces a while back. Sad that unfortunately, many of them will go under before this is sorted out.

Havent been able to figure out how spending ad dollars to reach consumers of your products would be viewed as DEI.

I imagine that across the country, there are still print newspapers in circulation, and in NYC metro area there are many that cater to senior citizens from different communities.
As is the case with these legacy papers.
If I sell products that Polish retirees buy, and I buy ads in their ethnic paper, that's just a way to reach them. Same as if Im advertising cruises or medical products in The Informer.

Yes. But less of it.

It cost more to import ink and paper, and produce hundreds or thousands of newspapers a week? A month? Than it does to run a website.

Hell that budget right there can probably go to pay 2 or 3 people.

Plenty newspapers are online and are still losing.. A lot of it has to do with charging people to read their news. Why do that when I can find the news in other places. I feel bad for them

Well if you have a favorite newspaper, you probably have a favorite journalist, or writer (op-ed) it's probably tailored toward your interests, or area.

I don't give a shyt about a particular weather man or meteorologist l, because I just look at my watch or Google weather in my area.

Most people probably look for local sports, or things happening locally in their area.

I like my black paper because it lets me know about black events. Like every Monday, rain or shine there's a black chess club. All ages.
