So many shytty movies were nominated for an Oscar, so who cares.
Agreed. I don't watch comic book movies and think that whole genre says volumes about the maturity of adults and where this society stands and is headed. I'm definitely on the same page with Bill Maher on that sh!t. Still, to be fair, every year the most pretentious folks sit back and declare great what the masses largely disregard. Reminds me of when 50 was blowing up and the cashiers at the record store were steadily trying to put me on to Def Jux. That same mentality displayed by film critics is partly why Trump got in.
Still, I can't help but wonder what the agenda is with nominating Black Panther? Right before Hillary made her run, Hollywood was bending over backwards to push an agenda that promoted white females and feminism. Now Hollywood is going hard for Black Panther. There's an agenda with this. We're encroaching upon Black History Month, two days ago was MLK day, Kamala Harris just threw her hat into the race for the DNC primaries. Black Panther as a comic book film getting all these nominations isn't coincidental. At the same time I find it fascinating seeing all the Black folks treat Black Panther like the second coming of a Black Christ. Woman in my department has literally transformed her cubicle into a miniature Wakanda. I'm thinking damn what the fukk have they largely done to our collective self esteem?
