I see this shyt all the time, especially on wshh and fighting videos on youtube.

There could be a vid of some hood nikkaz brawling in a supermarket and you'll see "this is why they hate us,smh" or "they make us look bad" :why:.

Anytime i see vids of white,asian,hispanic dudes fighting i don't see anyone crying in the comment section about race. If i see an ignorant black person acting stupid that's on that person, not us or me.

Hood trash on wshh don't represent me,my family,friends and all of the other decent black people i've met in life. So miss me with that "they make us look bad" shyt, nah they make themselves look bad:camby:

It's not true and I wish people would stop saying this shyt.
Black people aren't the only people begging for validation, we are just the only ones denied it and put on display, even by our own people.
Most of us don't give a flying fukk. I wish you guys would stop trying to box black people in. I know you hate when non-blacks do it.

Media portrayal has a lot to do with it. Our stereotypical images are for the most part negative; violent, overly sexualized, utilitarian.

Every other race may have stereotypes portrayed, but the vast majority of their images have images that counter the negative...

Asians eat domesticated animals/Asians are usually the smartest mothafukkaz in the room.

Arabs are suicide bombers/they control all of the oil in the world.

Latinos hop the border and get pregnant at 16/they are very family oriented.

What do black folks, specifically African Americans have? I've got friends who despite being in a three piece suit and fluent in the native language, and well-traveled to obscure countries all over the world; the first thing locals start doing is rapping, asking about drugs, or shooting an imaginary j...that should tell you all you need to know about our portrayal in the media in the USA and abroad.

I'm sick of being lumped in with that shyt...but we don't control the media, so you know what we need to control the fukking images. We glorify the ignorant bullshyt this thread is speaking on...and if you say any different either your delusional or apart of the problem.

So MISS ME with all that "it's that person" bullshyt...perception is reality and sadly we don't call it out or hold people accountable like other races. Until then, we will deal with those negative connotations. Our problems are deeper than just saying "that's not me" so I don't care.

I don't know why this is such a difficult concept to grasp

I actually think we don't disown the undesirable members of the race nearly enough
