I was listening to an ESPN NBA podcast, and they were discussing Lebron's postgame interview after the Rockets game where he choked away his free throws. Instead of talking about the game, the first thing Brian 'Elephant Cac' Windhorst mentioned was Lebron's use of the term 'tricked the game off.'
He goes..."tricked the game up? Is that what the kids (black folks) are saying these days? Tricked up used to be a good thing." Then when Amin Elhassan (young analyst GOAT btw) came on Winded Horse was still infatuated with the black slang Lebron used and asked Elhassan about it.
Now...all this got me to thinking, why aren't there any black sports podcasts? We listen to white folks talk all day about our players, and that's fine because for the most part it's respectful discourse. But I personally think if we were to put together a black sports podcast, and started to talk about the achievements of our people on the playing field, it would have a huge audience.
They look to us for slang and how to be cool anyway, so why not sell it to them like they sell everything to us?
What do you think? Would you listen to an all-black sports analysis podcast?
