Union Los Angeles

Chris and Beth Gibbs are co-owners of a popular streetwear retail space and clothing label named Union, a boutique carrying high end cut-and-sew pieces, shoes and tees from established brands and up-and-coming labels alike. Originally owned by a couple in NY who sold it to another party who opened a branch in LA, the company was eventually purchased by Chris, who closed the NY flagship store in which he used to work as a teen and made the LA location its only home. Chris and his wife have recently launched the eponymously named clothing line Union, which will have an emphasis on exceptionally constructed pieces with high quality fabric sourced primarily from Japan. In interviews, they’ve expressed a desire to give lesser known black designers exposure before they become breakout sensations - such as Fear of God’s Jerry Lorenzo. I’ve always known about Chris and Union, but I never knew he married a sister. It’s dope to see a black man and woman make moves like this in streetwear, an industry that appropriates much from black culture while having a very :mjpls: vibe.

I see that but you get my drift. I dont wanna be rocking pro black stuff every day, some times i just wanna rock a regular polo shirt
J Crew has decently priced clothing that might catch your eye. With rheir company on shaky ground, they run a lot of sales. The quality used to be a lot higher, but they’re still far preferable to ahot like GAP and Old Navy. J Crew is prob the best you’ll find before having to really dig deep into your pockets. :francis:

I low-key noticed this too when I was looking for shirts. A nikka just wanted a cool shirt with a simple clean artsy logo but the shirts were like BLACK POWER, panther fist ,africa and a boot on a cacs neck. Like damn can a nikka just have a swoosh like logo on his shirt without a political statement. There's a time and place and I'm trying to attend a meeting at a coffee shop. I'm not going to a rally
