For some reason outdoor courts arent really poppin like that around here. At least from my observation anyway

The best runs are at the community centers. You can also check out the factory in wake forest or NC state for some competitive pick up games.

Lol yeah I haven't seen any just riding around. I don't know where to go either but just cruising around the city, I don't see shyt!

Depends on your level of skill. I actually play ball all throughout the city, different parks and courts and open gyms. But I’m a mid thirties casual baller at this point.

What area are you in?

I just turned 30, so I'm more of a casual baller at this point, too. I may jump in a pickup game every once in a while, but I'm more into it as a source of conditioning, and it's my calm. Shooting ball has always been a release and a place I went to get away when I wanted to be alone...

I'm in Garner, it don't really look like its shyt around here, but I'm right of 70 so I'm just a few minutes from the city line...

Anyone here familiar with Raleigh, where are some good black tops I can go shoot ball?

@Doobie Doo
@Carolina Slim
@Mook
@How Sway?
@MJ Truth

And anyone else from Raleigh...
I go to Durham to hoop outdoor. Raleigh I mostly stick to fitness connection. Open gym on Wednesday night at the briar creek community center Saturday morning good run from 8:30-12. If you got the plug NC State is a good run too. Depends on what side of town you on.

Good looking out...

I don't need a gym or center like Fitness Connection, because I have a bomb fitness center at my complex. I just need a court....I guess I'm used to outdoor ball because of how I grew up, but I'm not closed to using a community center. I just don't want to pay to use to center I'll only use 4 or 5 times a month...

I'm too far to really utilize Brier Creek center but I'll probably check it out at some point. I'm only about 15 minutes from State and I'd love to get in over there, my girl is an alum but she don't know shiy about the courts lol...

If I was closer to Durham I'd def check the courts out!

Yeah not to be that guy from outta state always comparing shyt but coming from Chicago where we use to ball outside in the cold, it was strange seeing nobody at these outdoor courts and parks.

Hell I saw way more outdoor runs in Greensboro than here in Raleigh lol.

And most community centers are free as long as you live in the county and have a liscence. The factory in wake forest ( i think they call it capital sportsplex now) costs $6.00 which ain't bad but I'd feel cheated if I played less than three games

Yeah I grew up between California and Virginia and always had street ball courts, this is really unusual to me to not see courts around town...

I'm still on the hunt but maybe I'll look into community centers out here in the Garner area if I have no luck...
