For those not familiar with cricket. The west indian cricket team absolutely dominated cricket from the 70s to early 90s. The team is made up of players from across the west indies and imho this is where the strength in unity comes in. It's a shame it declined due to interest in soccer, athletics and under investment.

I got cousins down inna Yard that still play cricket till this day. Neat lil sport. You’d think football would be most popular but it’s actually cricket, especially in Jamaica.

Yea everyone could play little cricket, it's a sport with low entry, but the talent goes to track and field or soccer. For instance bolt really wanted to play cricket but his father pressured him into track and field

The great West Indies cricket team!

I met the era of Brian Lara and they were still solid in 2000s despite the decline.

They left crickets for athletics.
