We need nurses who actually do their fukking job, and that includes listening to patients when they express they're in pain/emergent situations. There's a historic issue with black people not being taken seriously when they say they're in pain at hospitals. I simply don't believe a white mother would be treated with that level of casual disdain in the same situation.

The stereotype is that black people can take more physical pain than other people. You see this in police interactions and medical interactions. They really don't see us as normal people. That's also where a lot of the "reefer madness" shyt came from, where the police would kill some dude and say oh he was on weed and gained 3x strength so I had to shoot him 100 times.
