She did what she was supposed to do
Juneteenth will always tick cacs off because of two reasons, one it brings acknowledgment to the end of slavery, particularly in Texas, the last state to abolish it, but the overall theme being that it's over which goes to my second point below...
Secondly, a lot of white people, you'd be surprised, whether they're covert or overt in their racism and prejudices, deep down inside, secretly, in their subconscious, wish it never ended, and the fact that a day, June 19th is being celebrated for slavery being over in America makes them feel indifferent, rather uncomfortable cause in their minds they'll often times fantasize about what America, and specifically how their lives would be today if Black people were still enslaved and never given freedom nor civil rights.
You might ask yourself, “
Why would anybody feel indifferent and have mixed feelings about slavery being over and people celebrating it?” Well, I'm here to remind you that White people are some twisted, sick in the head, mf's who have sadistic tendencies, among other inhumane attitudes, constantly compartmentalizing and finding justifications as to why, in their heads, it's okay to subjugate certain types of people to certain inhumane treatment.
Most white people, whether racist or not, aren't happy or thrilled that slavery ended, but rather they were forced by law to come to terms with it being over, the same way they were with Jim Crow. From their perspective, they'd believe life for themselves would be better. So this day in particular is always gonna rattle their nerves because it invokes a lot of closeted feelings.
This is another reason why, if you've noticed, despite it being a federal holiday for years now, it's still not being respectfully recognized or honored to the fullest by businesses, employers, etc, across the country like other US holidays similar to how MLK Day, despite all these years still isn't being honored by every state or city.
