U.S. box art revealed for BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma Extend

The U.S. box art has been revealed by Amazon for the upcoming BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma Extend. The cover features some of the characters in the videogame, including the two new fighters: Celica A. Mercury and Lambda No.11. If you are interested in the newest version of BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma, you can preorder it with this page from the retailer’s website. Find the U.S. box art below this paragraph. In addition to the new fighters (which brings the total of playable characters to 28), Arc System Works also revamped the Guard Gauge and even added a Stylish Mode (so that beginners can pull off moves without much effort). For the new version, a new story scenario will be implemented as well, featuring the story of two high-school girls (Mai Natsume and Kajun Faycott) with Makoto, Noel and Tsubaki making appearances.
BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma Extend is coming out in the North American region later this summer for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Vita. Surprisingly, there is no Xbox 360 release in the works. The fighting game supports cross-play between the PS4 and PS3 versions as gamers will be able to fight against each other online on the two separate Sony consoles.

BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma Extend, the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita expansion to BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma, will include a new story scenario dedicated to Kokonoe, as well as a handful of changes and additions to both its offline and online modes.
Like the other new story scenarios set for inclusion, Kokonoe’s scenario depicts events from the Ikaruga Civil War. In contrast to the Bullet and Kagura scenarios that are also planned, Kokonoe’s focuses on the events that led to Roy’s transformation into Arakune, while also featuring an episode in which Azrael finds himself arrested.
Gameplay-wise, players in Chrono Phantasma Extend will be able to furnish their own match rooms, which are known as “My Rooms.” Customizable elements include things like wallpaper, flooring, and furniture, among other things, all of which can be changed up to suit each player’s tastes, with the furniture specifically described as varying wildly from the realistic to the unique, with plenty to choose from. The method to unlocking items can vary; while some just require payment with the in-game currency, P$, others require satisfying certain conditions within either the main game or downloadable content to acquire.
Arc System Works provided a small list of example items players can expect to find, which we’ve supplied below:
  • Alucard Castle Bed: 3000P$
  • SS Rank Wanted Poster: 1000P$
  • Pakumen/Terumen Plushies: 1000P$ each
  • LCD Television: 2000P$
  • Golden Tager Statue: 30000P$
Beyond that, replays are now set to be savable for offline player matches, while online, functionality has been added to allow players to communicate with one another using various preset phrases from across four different categories.
BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma Extend is due out on April 23 in Japan and this summer in North America.
